Who IS OLIVIER?
Olivier (Oh-Liv-Ee-Aye) is a Christian hip-hop recording artist based out of Atlanta, GA. Gifted in the art of writing, the Haitian-American began creating his own music when he got to college in 2012, where he began participating in open mic events and talent shows by the moniker C. Dupe. From there he released several songs and accompanying music videos inspired by personal experiences and what was occurring in the world around him. Though he was making positive music he realized that his heart was geared towards the approval of others and he was not being authentic. In 2015, he decided to re-brand himself and change his stage name to his middle name, Olivier. Though he was teased as a child for what was considered an odd name, a recent self-battle and greater spiritual awakening helped him see the need to embrace his true self, identity and calling to uplift and lead others to Christ. He states, “There’s a difference between good and God” and wanted his music to better reflect his faith and the relationship with his Savior while still having a positive message.
Olivier uses witty and creative wordplay and metaphors as well as catchy hooks and reflective rhetoric to evoke the listeners into thinking deeper about life, love and faith as well as imputing them with knowledge and truth to leave a lasting impression on their lives. His passion for storytelling can be heard in his music as this honed craft continues to grow. The now 24 year old has goals of becoming a major evangelical artist. Olivier has opened up for leading Worship artist Jimi Cravity, the Migos, and was a featured artist at Georgia’s biggest positive music event, The Renaissance Experience. In the coming months, Olivier has plans to release his debut album entitled “Identity Crisis” that will tell his story of evolution and transformation.
